Juliette Dyke studied Fashion Designing at the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica from 2006 to 2008. Having been noticed in the college's Annual Alternative Fashion Show, Juliette decided to launch her Julan brand in December 2008, which led to her being described as "The One to watch" by CVM TV's 'On Stage'. Soon after, in April 2009, she was chosen to enter her designs in a fashion show in Brussels, Belgium. Caribbean Fashion Week (CFW) 2009 followed three months later, where she presented yet another cool Collection. Juliette has continued to design lines which incorporate bold colours, contrasting and unconventional fabrics, and dramatic accents, setting the trend for the fashionistas of her homeland Jamaica. Her Collections featured in CFW 2010, Miami International Fashion Week 2011, and CFW 2011, bowled over loyal fans and new followers. The designs have been featured in several publications both home and abroad. She is currently working on a new Collection to be exhibited in London's Fashion Week next month (February 2012). Juliette Dyke's inspiration comes from an amalgamation of the fashions from past eras, her own predictions of the future, and a vast variety of cultures. The Julan woman is chic, sophisticated, playful, trendy, unique, and loves to travel the world. The wardrobe of a Julan woman befits it all, and the contents of her luggage must contain an outfit for every occasion. |
